Valentine’s Day Paper Cutouts – Hearts and Sayings

Easy and cheap (when not 100% free) homemade Valentine’s Day decorations are made out of construction paper. The kids can cut hearts, lips, cupids, flowers, Teddy Bears and other cute silhouettes out of construction paper.

Needed materials

  • Several sheets of colored construction paper
  • Valentine’s Day stencils (optional)
  • Scissors
  • Markers
  • 1 roll adhesive tape or a few push pins or small nails and string

  • If the kids are very young, trace the silhouettes on the sheets of construction paper, if they’re old enough, have them trace the silhouettes themselves. You can use stencils if you wish.
  • Cut out the silhouettes – lend a hand to younger kids
  • With markers, draw a few details on each silhouette
  • Have the kids stick those Valentine’s Day cutours wherever they can find a good place to do so.

If you don’t want to have tape stuck on the walls, punch a hole in the cutouts. Using a piece of string, make a loop and hang over a small nail. You can also use push pins to pin the cutouts directly on the wall.
